Concerning drinking more water, here is what worked for me. I do not like just plain water. When I gave up sodas years ago, I started drinking sparkling water. It helped so much in the transition from soda. Then I started worrying about all the single-use plastic bottles I was using. I got a Drinkmate (there are others), a carbonated water maker. I drink so much more water now! I like adding a lime, lemon, or even cucumbers to it sometimes. I don't use any fake, sugary flavorings, just plain water, but carbonated.
